Five stars for five Chevrolets

It’s official – Chevrolet has a five-star collection of cars. Over the last couple of years, five different models have received the ultimate safety accolade of a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, the body responsible for crash testing vehicles and gauging the levels of protection they provide to passengers.

The Captiva is the latest Chevrolet model to earn its five-star stripes, delivering an outstanding 88 per cent rating for adult occupant protection in the event of a collision. It joins the Orlando, Volt, Cruze and brand new Aveo in achieving this five-star crash rating, and the Captiva’s performance was due in large measure to its comprehensive roster of standard safety equipment.

This includes electronic stability, traction and descent control systems, allied to braking assistance, six airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, three-point rear belts, an ISOFIX child restraint system, active head restraints and releasable pedals.
