Announced late last year, Chevrolet’s new Aveo has now reached the UK. Blending comfort and driving dynamics together, this ingeniously designed supermini aims to combine the clever packaging of an urban runaround with the refinement and specifications normally associated with bigger cars, all for under £10,000.
Redesigned inside and out compared to the first-generation model, the new Aveo has a rigid bodyshell aiding both safety and handling. Additional refinement has been incorporated via sound damping and noise-control techniques, and from the driver’s seat, the car shrinks around you, belying its five-door practicality.
The Aveo’s dual-cockpit design was inspired by its Corvette cousin, with blue ambient backlighting illuminating the motorcycle-themed instrument cluster.
This reprises the tubular capless headlights that add greater presence to the Aveo’s aggressive appearance, while performance comes courtesy of 1.2 and 1.4-litre petrol engines, plus a new 1.3-litre stop/start diesel unit capable of 78.4mpg.
