2011 was a good year for Hyundai in the UK. With new models including the i40 Tourer and recently facelifted i10 city car, the company achieved its third successive year of record sales and growth in market share.
In total, 63,577 Hyundais were sold last year, with an unprecedented 3.24 per cent market share across the UK. Much of this came from fleet sales, with a 53 per cent increase on 2010’s figures, although private sales also remained strong.
This impressive performance in a difficult market is set to continue throughout 2012, with a total of eight new models joining the Hyundai line-up this year. The eagerly awaited Veloster coupe will join the i40 saloon and new i30 at the heart of the range, with the latter likely to challenge the i10’s status as Hyundai’s best-selling model.
