Welcome to the Kizashi – a radical new saloon car from Suzuki. This spacious family saloon will introduce some unexpected features when it arrives in the UK later this month, and Suzuki’s first foray into the mid-sized car market will be initially limited to just 500 units, for added exclusivity.
The Kizashi will come with an intelligent and selectable all-wheel drive system fitted as standard, instantly setting it apart from its competitors. A 2.4-litre petrol engine feeds its power to the chosen wheels through a CVT automatic gearbox with manual paddleshift overrides.
Meanwhile, safety is taken care of with seven airbags, a stability programme and brakes supplied by the company responsible for the braking systems on Japanese bullet trains. Indeed, the Kizashi is impressively well equipped, with standard features including a subwoofer among the stereo’s eight speakers, and 10-way adjustable front seats with three temperature settings.
