Volvo’s acclaimed XC60 has been a huge critical and commercial success since its launch in 2008. Even at this early stage of January, the XC60 has already notched up its first trophy of 2012 – winning the Compact SUV category in this year’s Total 4×4 awards.
These awards are given out by one of the car industry’s foremost authorities on off-road vehicles, so the receipt of any commendation is always noteworthy.
Total 4×4 found the XC60 to be unbeatable even against some fairly stiff competition, taking into account its usability, practicality and affordability. The magazine’s judges summed it up rather eloquently: “Being sensible has never been so much fun.”
The XC60 is one of those rare vehicles that performs every duty to an exceptional standard. With a versatile and plush cabin alongside peerless levels of safety, it was a deserving winner at the Total 4×4 awards.
